New Doxa Hardware – CSL 2011/12 Trophies

Doxa CSL Champions

Last week, we attended the annual CSL pre-season club meeting, where we were awarded our silverware from the 2011/12 season.

The League title trophy will be kept by the club, but the Raul Briones League Cup will be passed on to next seasons cup champions. An inscription will be added each year with details on the winners and runner-up (as seen in the below image).

The CSL 2012/13 season is fast approaching, with kick-off slated for mid September. Stay tuned for more details.

Derk Droze Heads to Denmark – FC Nordsjaelland

Derk at MCH Arena

For those that might not have heard, Doxa player and manager Derk Droze is currently in Denmark, where he is helping out as a coach with FC Nordsjaelland. Derk is using the opportunity to hone his coaching skills with one of the top teams in Europe, for a month. FC Nordsjaelland are currently sitting at the hefty heights of 2nd place in the Danish SuperLiga. If all goes well for Derk over the coming weeks, there is a possibility that he might extend his stay there!

We plan to get a full update from Derk to share with you this week, but for now enjoy the images we stole from his Facebook page (where you can add him as a friend)!

Meister Makes US National Beach Team

Meister Doxa

Congrats to our very own Eric Meister who has cemented a spot on the US mens national beach soccer squad for the upcoming CONCACAF Beach Soccer Championship!

Meister, who is known as one of the hardest working players at the club, was part of an 18-player camp that took place last week. 12 players from that group were selected to represent the United States at the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup qualifying event that takes place Dec. 1-5 in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – and Meister is on that list!

Here is the US Soccer press release announcing the 18-players camp. Once the official release on the 12-man team is out we will add it up! We wish Eric the best of luck and hope he comes back with some international caps under his belt!
