Doxa fell to a tough 2-1 loss in the Angels Confrontational final this weekend. The game stood at 1-0 Doxa with 10 minutes left on the clock. But San Nicholas found an equalizer, and a goal in the first half of overtime. The game ended in controversy as Doxa were denied a definite penalty, with the referee choosing to play “advantage” as the ball fell to another Doxa player outside the box. A pretty unbelievable decision!
Doxa’s goal on the night came compliments of Steve Chirgwin, who dribbled past 3 players to the top of the box, before slotting a shot in the sidenetting with the outside of his boot!
Nevertheless, Doxa fought hard and can be greatful for a successful inaugural season in the Angels Confrontational league!
